RECORD OF THE YEAR Blank Space Taylor Swift No one had a bigger year than Swift.  The vocals, lyrics, production, and video for "Blank Space" are all top shelf. ALBUM OF THE YEAR Traveller Chris Stapleton I think that the 58th GRAMMYS are going to be the year of the Stapleton, but I wouldn't be surprised if Girl Crush upseeded him in a few categories. SONG OF THE YEAR "Girl Crush"  Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna & Liz Rose, songwriters (Little Big Town) Would love to see Massachusetts native McKenna bring this one home! BEST NEW ARTIST Sam Hunt Hunt had a meteoric rise in 2015.  I can't see this going to anyone else.  In fairness to the other nominees, I've only heard of two of them so maybe they're awesome. 1.  Location, location, location The pristine blue ocean and sandy beach provided a fantastic location for the beach loving country singers like Jake Owen and Kenny Chensey. 25,000 people singing “Beachin’” while on the beach is tough to beat. 2. Zac Brown Band The band showed once again why they are in elite company at the top of the country music scene. The band was able to put together a set that covered all the hits and included super fun covers like Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”, Metallica’s “Enter Sandman”, and Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb”. They finished their set with “Chicken Fried” and set off the most fun, raucous dance party of the weekend. 3. Sam Hunt Playing off the main stage, Hunt had the largest crowd of the weekend aside from Chesney and Zac Brown Band. Hunt played his number 1 singles “Leave the Light On” and “Take Your Time”. Luke Bryan will release his final Spring Break EP, ‘Spring Break … Checkin’ Out’ on March 10 ahead of his two beach concerts on March 11-12 in Panama City Beach, Florida. Kenny Chesney and Grace Potter have the premiere of "Wild Child" on USA Today , today.  Love and Theft released "Whiskey On My Breath" yesterday.  Check out my review here .  Joe Nichols will be at the HOB Boston on February 28th.  Little Big Town shared "Girl Crush" at the Grand Ole Orpy and I'm going to be singing it in my head all day.
