2016 was a very good year for country music in Boston!  Here are my 5 favorite performances from the year (with one cheat). 5.   Maren Morris , Bank of NH Pavilion, July 3, 2016. Maren Morris had arguably my favorite album of 2016 and hearing  Hero  live certainly didn't disappoint.  I missed her opening at Red Rocks (Church may have been a little late to his meet and greet) but loved seeing her open for Keith at the Bank of NH Pavilion. Born and raised in Waggaman, Louisiana, Kayla was a little girl with a big voice and a love for the stage. She was singing by age 4, playing the Texas/Louisiana Opry circuit by age 7, and, by age 10, fronting her own band at parades, parties, and festivals across the region. Kayla made the move to Nashville and, in April 2016, released her self-titled EP.
